I get into these periods of infatuation with a particular theme. The names of past crushes linger in my memory: Andreas, Hemingway, Thematic, Thesis, Carrington Business and many others.
There was even a time, back before people got serious about WordPress and the system grew beyond my skills to code, when I would design my own themes from scratch. Ah, those were the days.
Now, however, I’m an in it for convenience, and the newest release with WordPress, the Twenty-Eleven theme, is the apple of my eye. It’s clean. It focuses on content, and it’s got a few advanced features that I like.
So I’m using it out of the box here on Hypercrit, along with Disqus for commenting. Perhaps I’ll come back and customize it a bit later on, when I have time to look up how to make a child theme version of it. For now, though, it stays on the defaults.
Judging by the number of posts I make here anymore, I don’t think I need to get too fancy with the themes anyway.
